Designed for the influential city dweller, Shopyte introduced an SS20 collection in keeping with the brands notorious reputation for elegant, classic and timeless pieces. Once again overlooking the current trends, Dovilė Šopyté, founder and designer behind the brand, pushes Shopyte in a new direction, bringing to the runway a line of fresh, unprecedented pieces, each with a subtle dominance drawn from the concrete jungle from which the collection was inspired.
Focusing on key details for this season, the collection is designed with versatility, sustainability and distinction in mind, shaped for the contemporary woman who values the quality of her wardrobe. Each piece boasts femininity with gentle breezy shades forming the designs. Each piece also incorporates an edge to it, juxtaposing sharp shoulder tailoring, clean cut lines and bolder shades against the primary colour palette.
Minimalism plays a prevalent role, a technique seen across previous collections. This year however, this minimalism incorporates a subtle element of rebellion through the inclusion of delicate silver chains featuring alongside the gentle colour palette, a perfect balance between feminine and feisty for women of the big city.
Each garment exudes confidence a trait passed to the individual upon its wearing, a contemporary gem made to gleam in the city streets, singular, flawless and paired to perfection, its simple yet sleek design making it a staple in any woman’s wardrobe.
Throughout this collection, the notion of nature, reforestation and repairing what has been destroyed plays a prominent role. The collection created both ethically and sustainably, pays back to the fashion industry what it took upon its creation, providing a much-needed equilibrium within the industry.
Among those to walk in the show was supermodel Madeline Stuart, displaying the confidence, sophistication and elegance that the classic Shopyte woman embodies.
