'Rohmir' debuted its elegant and travel-ready SS20 collection ‘Voyage’ at Fashion Scout, Victoria House this London fashion week. Rohmir is a Swiss luxury fashion company founded by Olga Rob in Monoco 2007, the brand produces ready to wear fashion and accessories for women and girls. The company has participated in every London Fashion Week since 2012, with collections such as SS19 'My Fairy Tale'. Fashion Scout calls the newest collection "a modern reply to the demand of an active and travelling businesswoman."
The collection ‘Voyage’ has light wear fabrics that streamline the female figure and then flow ethereally around her. Many of the clothing has a pastel tone of blue and pink - showing the soft side of femininity, but with a sharp silhouette of sophistication. The brand has always been known to enhance the female figure without surgical methods, and instead through the shape and design of clothing.
The garments bring to mind the phrase ‘island living’ with blue striped pieces and cream floral jumpsuits. The collection is dedicated to "a new golden 20s full of joy, fun and dreams and, of course, travel." It has fashion that can transform from business to evening wear and is inspired by the must-have items for your suitcase.
The collection includes dresses and jumpsuits printed entirely with pink roses,
suit jackets embedded with crystals, and evening dresses in tassels, feathers and jewels that feel very 1920s Jazz. One memorable piece, a red sheer top with frilled lace down the sides, the models wearing nothing underneath. It seemed a power stance, taking ownership of their bodies and presenting the female form as something powerful and beautiful instead of scandalous.
Within the collection are red jumpsuits and dresses all painted with black stencils of branches and trees, a haunted forest. The only colours are red and black; a striking image and a shift in tone from the florals and canvas beach jumpsuit. Olga Rob appeared at the end of the show in a piece from the collection; one of these red forest dresses, with high knee boots this part of the collection, is very electric.
This show celebrated women and showed the many different sides to a woman; the daring, the soft, the boss, the elegant. Some of them two at the same time. SS20 is inspired by travel and all the changing fashion of women throughout the day - so it's fitting that many of these can be two things at once, depending on how you style it.
The music for the show was light and fun - with models smiling; hair and make up styled naturally. This SS20 collection felt like blowing out the cobwebs and looking towards a new year fresh and hopeful.
