Louis Vuitton are set to showcase its cruise 2020 runway show at the TWA flight centre, located at the JFK airport in New York City. The luxury French house broke the news of its plans through the Instagram of Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director, Nicolas Ghesquière “My next Louis Vuitton Cruise show will take place at the iconic TWA Flight Centre at New York’s JFK airport on May 8”.
The terminal, opened in 1962, was designed for the Trans World Airlines by Eero Saarinen, an American and finish architect and industrial designer, known for his neo- futuristic style of design. Speculation surrounding the Louis Vuitton collection also wonders if the location will compliment the concept of the collection. In a press release from the house, Louis Vuitton stated “The TWA Flight Centre, a sheer evocation of travel itself, is inherently linked to Louis Vuitton’s commitment to exclusive architectural discoveries, to its Art of Travel and represents an ideal close to Nicolas Ghesquière’s inspirations.”
This event will be the first public occasion to occur within the terminal, after undergoing reconstruction as a TWA hotel.
