IAMSUUBI | "Callin U Lately" ft Casj Lee
Two artists emerging from London, IAMSUUBI and Casj Lee have just released their new single “Callin U Lately” on July 3rd, the track is a bass-heavy trap record addressing the trials and tribulations of romance and dating in the modern age.
IAMSUUBI, born in 1996 as Jesse Kaddu Suubi Fredrick MUSOKE, a Ugandan, Swedish raised and now London based producer, songwriter and vocalist focusses mainly on writing and producing the genre fusion of trap/soul music and has been prominent on the scene since 2017 when his first singles “PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS” and “LOCA” were released. Jesse being an only child spent most of his early life in Sweden emerged in listening to and discovering new music and has been heavily influenced by Hip-hop and RnB from artists such as Snoop Dogg and Notorious BIG. Jesse spent most of his teenage years in Sweden and performed regularly at school talent shows and this is where his passion for songwriting and performing was first established. Jesse swiftly got involved with other aspiring artists in Sweden after discovering a community-owned recording studio in Vaxjo, Sweden, where recording and equipment hire was free for all and subsequently released collaborative music created here on Soundcloud under the tag J-SEASON. His experience and acquaintance with other pioneering artists in Vaxjo aided Jesse to move to London in 2016 to solely pursue his career as a trap artist and centre himself in a place in which successful careers in music can be within reach for many up and coming artists.
IAMSUUBI’s collaboration on “Callin U Lately” with rising artist Casj Lee is not newfangled as the pair met in 2016 and later collaborated on IAMSUUBI’s creative project “IF NOT NOW THEN WHEN” which was released in August 2018. “Calling U Lately” has been released as a lead up to IAMSUUBI’s upcoming collaboration “Demons” and his new forthcoming EP titled “WHO I AM” which is set for release next month.
