Glowe, 21-year-old North London singer-songwriter is back from lockdown with new music - today marks the release of the new lyric video to 'Nuthin On You'. After last weeks imaginative instalment of lyric video 'Apologies' to her Instagram, Glowe's latest track again highlights the outstanding creativity being produced behind the scenes during COVID-19. This track 'Nuthin On You' represents self-confidence as a young person and presents a different and distinctive side of Glowe which has not been uncovered yet. In an interview with Glowe we find out the gossip behind 'Nuthin On You'.
Describe the creative process behind this latest track & music video?
Nuthin on You is about self-confidence and empowerment. Being a young woman navigating the creative industry can be challenging at times so I wanted to write something that expressed the journey I’m going through. I wrote it with Miracle Nwaizu. He’s an incredible poet and artist. It’s also produced by Brendan Davies. A trusted producer and friend of mine.
I made the video with my flatmates (Savannah Seymour and Aidan McCormack) during lockdown in a forest. We wanted to create an abstract and slightly psychedelic “Glowe” world for the viewer to get lost in. Me being alone in the video and exploring my surroundings reflects the meaning of the song. The video focusses on interesting camera shots using a drone and 360 cam.
What were your biggest inspirations when making this track?
I've always had love for drum & bass and electronic dance music. For this track, I wanted to create something a bit heavier and darker than previous releases, infused with elements of DnB.
Explain the messages you are pushing with this latest song?
I've always had a love for drum & bass and electronic dance music. For this track, I wanted to create something a bit heavier and darker than previous releases, infused with elements of DnB.u’re drowning. On the day I wrote this with Miracle I really needed a boost of confidence. I wanted to write the perfect song I could listen to on days like that when I was feeling fed up and unfulfilled. This song is about finding your strength and not allowing anyone to take it away from you.
